Neil Waddington is 50 and still shredding in every aspect of BMX. Racing, Trails, Park, Street. Put an obstacle in front of Neil and he’s pedaling over it.
I turned 50 just 5 days into 2023.
I guess some people throw a huge party to mark their 50th birthday, or book a cruise, or buy a motorbike (or whatever they feel is missing).
However I kind of went a different route. I decided that rather than going gently into that good bmx night and doing less and less riding (there’s always an easy excuse to hand), Id instead do MORE of what I love, ie MORE bmx.
I’d mark my 50th trip around the sun by trying to cram as much god damm bmx into the 12 months as I could. Park, Dirt, Flat, Street, and I even start Racing, Id try to do it all.
So this edit is what BMX at 50 looked like for me.
